Have you heard the story about a wolf and a little rabbit? The content of the story is as follows. In a forest, there lives a few rabbits and a wolf. To protect her children from the wolf, each time the mother of those rabbits go out, she exhorts her children to tightly close the door and not to open the door except she comes to knock at the door. Those young rabbits are all obedient and clever. The wolf imitates the sound of the mother of the rabbits to knock at the door. Those rabbits see through the wolf’s trick through distinguishing whether the sound is the one of their mother or not. When their mother knock at the door, they recognize her voice and open the door joyfully.
It is because the instruction of the mother of the rabbits that the rabbits act carefully and don’t blindly open the door when hearing the sound of knocking. And, those clever rabbits understand how to tell whether the sound is their mother by discerning the voice, and thus see through the identity of the wolf disguising itself as the mother of the rabbits, in the end, those rabbits finally await the coming of their mother. I am thinking: If the young rabbits forgot the instruction of their mother and opened the door for the wolf, the consequences would be disastrous. If those rabbits only remember the words, “Don’t open the door whoever it is”, and don’t open the door to anyone according to these words, when their mother really comes back, she would be blocked out of the door.
At this time, I think of the scene of two thousand years ago. The Lord Jesus once instructed, “And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:  for false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.”(Mark 13:21-23)
In the last days, the Lord will come back. Many brothers and sisters judge those who witness the Lord’s return are all false for fear of being deceived by false Christs. Indeed, the Lord Jesus once clearly prophesied there would be false Christs coming to confuse people, but He also prophesied many times He would come, such as “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.”(Matthew 25:6), “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”(Revelation 3:20), “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”(Revelation 2:7).
We can see from these verses of scripture that the Lord required us to be the wise virgins to listen to the voice of the bridegroom when He comes, that is the voice of the Lord.
Then why did some verses ask us not to believe and some ask us to listen? All these verses are all the words of the Lord. If someone witnesses the Lord’s coming, shall we listen to it or not? In fact, there is no contradiction in the words of the Lord. The reason why the Lord Jesus told us there would be false Christs in the last days is that He reminds us to safeguard against false Christs’ confusion. Just as the mother of those young rabbits instructs her children not to open the door for the sake of security, and asks them to be careful, that is no to say, they don’t open the door even though their mother comes back, if the did this way, they would be foolish. But we treat safeguarding against false Christs and false prophets as a great thing and don’t pay attention to listen to the voice of the Lord, isn’t this cutting off our nose to spite our face and lose a lot by trying to save a little? Does it block the genuine Christ out of the door? Wouldn’t we become the people opposing the Lord? Wouldn’t we deny the Lord’s return?
The Lord made a clear explanation of how false Christs confuse people: The false Christs confuse people by displaying signs and wonders. It can be seen that the key to welcome the Lord is to listen to God’s voice, for the Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. If He is Christ, He can express truths to save man, but false Christs can’t do such a thing.
I then think of a humorous short play I watched a few days ago. Its name is Starving for Fear of Choking. The protagonist of the video dares not to investigate the true way for fear of being confused by false Christs, in the end, he understands the truth of how to distinguish true Christ from false Christs and finally welcome the Lord. Here, I share it with brothers and sisters in the Lord!

In the matter of welcoming the Lord's coming, there are some in the religious world who close their door and wait alone for fear of being deceived by false Christs. They starve themselves for fear of choking, and cling to the words, "Then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Mat 24:23-24). They think anyone who preaches God's gospel of the last days or testifies the Lord's return is false, and utterly refuse to hear, see, or come into contact with them, but they ignore how to welcome the Lord's coming. The protagonist of this skit is one such person … This humorous skit warns us that if we misinterpret the Scriptures, understand the Lord's words incorrectly, and stubbornly abide by mistaken views, we will inevitably lose our chance to be raptured, and be forsaken by the Lord. Christians need to think about how to welcome the Lord's return, which means focusing on seeking and investigating, listening for God's voice, and not starving themselves for fear of choking.
